Why should I enter a rent-to-buy with Ayan instead of getting an Uber rental elsewhere?

Choosing Ayan for your rent to buy agreement means you're not just renting, you’re investing in full ownership of a high-quality, Uber-approved vehicle with terms that are flexible, transparent, and halal. Unlike standard rentals where your payments never lead to ownership, Ayan’s rent to buy model helps you build an asset over time.

We generally ask for a low deposit (minimum 5%), we have competitive weekly rates, and our team helps you step by step to get into your dream Uber car from day one - something many general rental companies don't provide.

Do I need to maintain my Uber car?

Yes, since the Uber car will eventually be yours, it makes sense that you get to control the level of maintenance, meaning you get to decide how often you want to get it serviced. However, this also means you can do whatever you want to make the Uber car to make your own, such as changing the licence plate, you just need to let us know so we can keep your records up to date.

Is insurance included in my Uber car?

While uber rentals might include insurance, they use fleet insurance, which means you end up paying more for an insurance that doesn’t reflect your driving abilities.

With Ayan you get options. You can either go for your own insurance - meaning you get to choose the best policy for you. Or you can get a tailored quote specific to your driving history with our insurance partners and get a corporate discount.

Ayan does not provide insurance itself - Ayan collaborates with a regulated insurance broker, DCL. Ayan does not earn any commissions from this collaboration. You may find that a policy we can take out with DCL and enter you as a named driver costs you less than other providers where you are the policyholder.

If Ayan takes out a policy via DCL with you as a named driver, Ayan can provide financing for the insurance premiums, along with the vehicle. You will earn the No Claims Bonus, since this is not fleet insurance.

Are there any age requirements to getting an Uber car?

Uber rentals normally have an age minimum of 25 (or they charge you a hefty fee for being young). Leaving out all of you Gen Z’ers looking to hustle. Here at Ayan, we want to enable the younger generation to also have access to finance, whilst remaining responsible lenders ourselves. For that reason, our minimum age for financing is 21. This allows us to credibly look at your credit history to provide you with a fair offer.

Is it cheaper to rent or rent-to-buy an Uber car?

If you’re looking for a long term vehicle, rent to buy is definitely the more cost effective option. In a rent to buy contract, your weekly payments go towards eventual ownership, and if you are planning on using the car for a prolonged period of time anyways, it doesn’t make sense to just end up with dusty receipts of a car you used to drive.

However, if you are looking for a short-term contract, a simple rent (not offered by Ayan) may be more suitable for you.

Is Ijara wa Iqtina the same thing as rent-to-buy?

Yes, you have the liberty to choose the best insurance for yourself. You can compare between the prices and select the best option that suits you.
