Triple Point, the innovative investment manager specialising in private markets, has arranged a senior Shariah-compliant ijara-based facility of up to £75 million for Ayan Capital. Ayan Capital is a London-based, FCA-authorised Islamic fintech offering Shariah-compliant car finance to UK retail and business customers.

Ayan Capital launched its regulated retail product in late 2025. The facility will be used both to refinance an existing lender and to fund originations for its next phase of growth as the business continues to scale, strengthening Ayan Capital's position as a leading platform offering competitive products in the broader Islamic finance space. The company was founded by Abdullo Kurbanov, Firdavs Mirzoev and Zuhursho Rahmatulloev, who bring experience of building financial infrastructure at scale, having previously co-founded Alif, a challenger bank serving more than 10 million customers across Central Asia and Pakistan.

Islamic finance operates on ethics-based principles that prohibit interest and require financial products to be asset-backed and free from speculative risk. Ayan’s ijara-based halal car financing model means that Ayan purchases and owns the vehicle throughout the rental term, taking ownership risk, with the customer making fixed monthly rental payments agreed at the outset. With its AyanCare product, Ayan also takes an enhanced repair responsibility. This makes it well suited to ethical and transparent financing models that appeal beyond faith-based audiences alone.

By combining technology-led underwriting with a Shariah-compliant financial framework, the facility enables Ayan Capital to responsibly serve creditworthy prime and near-prime, a segment overlooked by mainstream lenders. The facility is also expected to reduce Ayan Capital's cost of funding, supporting more competitive pricing for eligible customers.

Ayan's Co-Founders

Ellis Diamanti, Head of Specialty Finance at Triple Point said, “Ayan pairs an impressive management team with a technology-first platform, providing an excellent customer experience while meeting the growing appetite for Shariah-compliant financial products. We are delighted to support Ayan into its next stage of growth, and congratulations to Anastasia Chernoyarova, Director in our Specialty Finance team, who led the transaction through to completion.”

Abdullo Kurbanov, CEO and co-founder at Ayan Capital said, “From our first conversation, Triple Point felt like partners on the same side of the table. This facility lowers our cost of funding, which means more competitive pricing for eligible customers. It funds the launch of AyanCare, where we take enhanced repair responsibility for the vehicles we own. And it builds the balance sheet, systems and governance that support our long-term ambition to seek authorisation as a UK bank, so we can offer genuinely better financial products across the board.”

Yifan Pu, Chief Financial Officer at Ayan Capital said, “This facility takes us off early-stage financing and onto institutional terms, which meant our book, our servicing and our reporting all had to stand up to a partner of this caliber. Passing that is worth nearly as much to us as the funding, because it's the track record the next tier of funding markets wants to see.”

NOTES:

How does the Ayan model work?

Ayan purchases and owns the vehicle throughout the rental term. The customer makes fixed monthly rental payments agreed at the outset, with ownership transferring at the end of the term under a separate sale and transfer agreement. Because Ayan owns the vehicle throughout, the structure is based on ownership and use of a real asset rather than an interest-bearing cash loan, and no interest is charged at any stage.

Shariah compliance

Ayan Capital’s product structure and contracts are reviewed annually by Alhamd Advisory against relevant AAOIFI Shariah standards, with additional oversight from Mufti Faraz Adam, Amanah Advisors.

AyanCare

AyanCare is Ayan’s Enhanced Repair Responsibility: if customers opt in, Ayan takes on responsibility for unexpected mechanical and electrical repairs in-line with the terms, keeping customers on the road with genuine peace of mind. Because Ayan already owns the vehicle throughout the term, this responsibility is a natural extension of that ownership.
